A Mission to KRG
IOG undertook a mission to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and met with several Senior Eexecutives in the Kurdistan Regional Government to discuss the workplan for the coming year. Vice-President of IOG, Sylvain Dubois and Madeleine Meilleur, Senior Advisor meeting Minister of Municipality and Minister of Interior in Kurdistan Regional Government.

The Ceremony of signing the Master Agreement
The Federal and Provincial governments signed on March 29,2018 the master agreement to enhance the implementation of decentralization in Maysan and Diwaniya provinces. The Secretary of the Council of Ministers represented the Federal Government, Governors of Maysan and Diwaniya represented the Provincial Government, and The Head of the High Commission on Coordination of provinces. All parties signed the master agreement. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Ministers of the six ministries in addition to the Minister of Planning and the Minister of Finance, representatives of the Canadian Embassy in Baghdad, and representatives from the Institute on Governance.

Cohort 4 Set to Launch
The fourth cohort, made up of female parliamentarians and members of the Finance Committee of Parliament will convene in Baghdad and then in Ottawa in the coming month. This cohort marks the first time on the project the delegates will be made up entirely of elected officials. This cohort will meet periodically over the next year to help shape the role of parliament in fiscal federalism and decentralization.
